Gynecological Cancer Care

Home Gynecological Cancer Care

Gynecological cancers affect the reproductive organs of women, including the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina, and vulva. These cancers can be complex and require specialized treatment approaches. The most common types of gynecological cancer include:

Cervical Cancer: Affects the cervix, the lower part of the uterus. It is often caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and can be detected early through regular screening tests.

Ovarian Cancer: Develops in the ovaries, the female reproductive organs that produce eggs. Ovarian cancer may not cause symptoms in the early stages, making it challenging to detect.

Uterine (Endometrial) Cancer: Occurs in the lining of the uterus (endometrium). It is the most common type of gynecological cancer and often presents with abnormal uterine bleeding.

Vaginal Cancer: Forms in the tissues of the vagina, the muscular tube that connects the uterus to the outside of the body. It is relatively rare but can be aggressive.

Vulvar Cancer: Affects the external genital organs, including the labia, clitoris, and vaginal opening. It may present as itching, pain, or changes in the skin of the vulva.
